As we approach the final week of 2016, I am sure many of you are thinking about how quickly the time has passed.
We take great pride in what the Fort Campbell garrison accomplished this year.
You have all been valuable contributors to the reputation that Fort Campbell holds among Army installations. From achieving the honorable distinction as the 2016 Army Communities of Excellence gold award winner, to winning Installation Management Command leading safety awards, to unparalleled quality in the delivery of exceptional Child Developmental Services. Our workforce is second to none.
Our Soldiers, civilian personnel and their Families demonstrate each day their commitment to the Army, 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell mission.
While our leadership made tough decisions about the management of limited resources, you have not missed a beat in placing Soldier and Family readiness first.
Our operating tempo has never been more vigorous in providing services to ensure mission readiness, implementing programs to support our Families and preparing our Soldiers and Families for the transition to civilian life.
Through the many challenges, you remained committed to the garrison Family and we want to thank each of you for your contributions. Still, the work is never done.
As we transition into the new year, we hope that you will have some quality downtime with Family and friends. And in one of those quiet moments, consider your own personal, Family and professional goals. Take note of improvements that you would like to make in 2017, and even improvements you would like to see in our garrison.
Seek ways to take advantage of the resources in the Army community, especially here at Fort Campbell that can help.
We know that everyone faces challenges in navigating Army life and that is why our Army civilian professionals remain committed to helping with any issues that our Army Families need assistance with.
We have worked hard to hear the voice of the community and to provide quality support and services – from expanded child care hours to offering more local career development opportunities, to providing more efficient ways to complete annual training. The Fort Campbell garrison is committed to making improvements that will help you to reach your goals.
Fort Campbell is a unique Family comprised of its workforce, Families, veterans and community partners. Although we each fulfill different roles, your involvement is critical to continuous improvement.
We also want to remind you to be safe during your end-of-year activities. Plan ahead to avoid last minute and unwise decisions that can have unforgiving, irreversible consequences.
Pay attention to changes in the weather and factor it into your travel plans. Take good care of yourself, your Family and your fellow Soldiers.
I look forward to what we will accomplish here next year. Air Assault! Soldier for Life! Army Strong!
